WWE News: John Cena Will Set Record For Most PPV Main Events In WWE History At No Mercy

TJR Wrestling

John Cena will set a record at No Mercy in October when he main events his 68th PPV. He is tied with Undertaker and Triple H. It includes Royal Rumble matches.

Here’s the graphic from a page on Wikipedia.

It may be tough for anybody to beat that number because Cena started main eventing in 2005 – I know it says 2003 because it was a Rumble match, but he really became a main eventer at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. He is one of the most durable top guys ever. Yes, he’s had injuries, but his run on top has been really long.

I don’t see the likes of Reigns, Rollins or Ambrose hitting that number even though they are around 30 years with a potential 10 years of main eventing because I don’t think any of them is going to be a clear top guy like Cena. There are others to contend with too.

While I’m not saying it’s an unbreakable record, I just think it will be a long time before somebody beats it. I think it’s an impressive number too.

(Thanks to a thread on Reddit for posting that. I browse on there sometimes.)
