Updated Lineups for WWE Greatest Royal Rumble (April 27) and Backlash (May 6) After WWE TV This Week

TJR Wrestling

There are two big shows coming to WWE Network in the next three weeks. First up we have the Greatest Royal Rumble event at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. AST. That’s 12pmET on a Friday afternoon for those of us in the Eastern time zone. The event will be shown live on WWE Network and the expectation is that it’s going to run at least five hours.

WWE Championship Steel Cage Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns

WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

50-man Greatest Royal Rumble

The 18 names announced on WWE.com so far include:

Daniel Bryan
Braun Strowman
Big Show
Kurt Angle
Chris Jericho
Elias
Baron Corbin
Big E
Kofi Kingston
Xavier Woods
Apollo Crews
Shelton Benjamin
Sin Cara
Chad Gable
Goldust
Titus O’Neil
Mojo Rawley
Dolph Ziggler

Kane was on there, but they took him off the list. The rest of the names will likely be the other male wrestlers on the main roster because they will need nearly all of them to get 50 guys in the match.

The Spanish WWE website reported that there will be a trophy for the winner. No word yet on if they get a title match of some kind.

Triple H vs. John Cena

Casket Match: The Undertaker vs. Rusev – This match was announced last week, then it was off the next day and it’s back on again as I covered yesterday.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz vs. Samoa Joe

Smackdown Tag Team Championships: The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. The Usos

For the Vacant Raw Tag Team Championships: Sheamus and Cesaro vs. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt

WWE United States Championship: Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Jinder Mahal

WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Cedric Alexander (c) vs. an opponent yet to be named

There will be no women’s wrestlers on the show.

Here’s the WWE Backlash lineup for Sunday, May 6 in Newark, New Jersey. The show will feature Raw and Smackdown talent since every main roster PPV is dual-branded for the rest of the year.

Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe – This could be a Universal Championship match if Reigns beats Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the Greatest Royal Rumble event on April 27. Joe is a Smackdown wrestler now, so if it becomes a title match and Joe wins then Joe would take the Universal Title with him to Smackdown.

Intercontinental Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. The Miz – The Miz gets a rematch for the IC Title as the former champion and this is it even though he gets a title match at Greatest Royal Rumble as well.

Raw Women’s Championship: Nia Jax (c) vs. Alexa Bliss – This is Bliss getting her rematch. It’s not on WWE.com yet.

Jeff Hardy defending the US Championship against Randy Orton is likely because Orton is owed a rematch from WrestleMania and was originally against Jinder Mahal at this show. It’s not official yet.

That’s all for now.
