Shinsuke Nakamura’s Opponent Changed For WWE Tour In Japan

TJR Wrestling

In May, WWE announced their return to Japan set to happen this July with a dynamite card featuring some of the company’s top stars in a two-day event. One of the headliners — Japan’s very own, Shinsuke Nakamura — was set to face Bray Wyatt. Those plans have changed as Bray Wyatt is no longer going to be a part of the tour, and Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens will take on “The King of Strong Style” in Tokyo. The updated card can be found below.

July 1st:

— WWE Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens

— WWE World Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. The Vaudevillains vs. The Usos vs. The Club

— WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte vs. Natalya

— NXT Women’s Champion Asuka vs. Becky Lynch

— John Cena vs. A.J. Styles

— Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Chris Jericho

— Dolph Ziggler vs. Curtis Axel

— Titus O’Neil vs. Baron Corbin

July 2nd:

— WWE Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho vs. Seth Rollins

— WWE World Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. The Vaudevillains

— WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch

— NXT Women’s Champion Asuka vs. Natalya

— Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens

— John Cena vs. A.J. Styles

— The Usos vs. The Club

— Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin

— Titus O’Neil vs. Curtis Axel

Mike’s Take: WWE has to broadcast one of these shows on WWE Network, right? Right?! I mean, who doesn’t want to see Titus O’Neil take on Curtis Axel? That being said, the matches on these cards are phenomenal. And with Asuka, Shinsuke Nakamura and the gaijin sweetheart himself, A.J. Styles returning to Japan — along with Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows — I’m sure the crowd will be ecstatic.

These are just house shows basically, but seeing these cards makes me so excited for the rest of the year in WWE. So many fresh matches at our fingertips for whenever Nakamura gets called up to the main roster.
