Report: Randy Orton’s WWE Return Delayed Longer; Still Recovering From Shoulder Surgery

TJR Wrestling

Former WWE Champion Randy Orton is still about a month or so away from training for a return to the squared circle. This is according to Dave Meltzer’s latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Meltzer goes on to report that Orton was originally expected at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando in mid to late June to train for a few weeks for his return, which would be right about now. However, his shoulder is still not feeling 100% yet and he’s also been battling with some nagging neck issues.

Orton’s most recent shoulder surgery was his third operation on the same shoulder. Since this was the case, Meltzer notes that this surgery was more extensive than previous years, which is why it’s taking longer than usual to recover. It was also noted that Orton won’t need neck surgery.

Below is Orton’s last televised match for WWE before becoming injured. He teamed up with Dean Ambrose to face Big E and Kofi Kingston of The New Day on October 12, 2015.

Orton is being advertised for a live event in Hidalgo, Texas on August 13 as well.

There’s no word yet on if Orton will be at the July 19 draft, but it’s possible he will be. It just may be a few weeks until he’s in the ring.
