Jey Uso Breaks Silence After Breakthrough WWE Title Win

Jey Uso WWE

Jey Uso has smashed through his own glass ceiling and become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion with a milestone win on Monday Night Raw.

After incredible success in the tag team ranks of WWE, it took fourteen years for Jey Uso to win his first singles gold in the company.

Uso earned his right to challenge Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Title as he battled through a triple threat and fatal four-way bout. Bron Breakker has been hugely impressive since joining WWE’s main roster and he captured the championship from Sami Zayn at SummerSlam. But the incredible rise of Main Event Jey Uso was too much for Breakker to handle.

31 years after their fathers battled each other in tag team action, Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker with a huge Uso Splash to win the Intercontinental Title on Raw in Ontario, CA.

Jey Uso Has One Word As New WWE Intercontinental Champion

Following the show, WWE released an exclusive interview with Jey Uso while he was still celebrating with the fans where the new Intercontinental Champion gave his first comments after winning the gold:

First of all, I appreciate everyone who’s been on my journey Uce, I’m happy it happened in front of my home state Californ-I-A. But I promise, I’m a big believer though in hard work will always pay off. Kids though, good grades kids, listen to your parents, say your prayers man and I swear your dreams will come true.

Just like getting my first championship, the new Intercontinental Champion and if you’re down with Jey Uso being the new IC champ then let me hear you say YEET!

Jey Uso’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has been fiercely critical of WWE’s booking of his son in recent weeks. It remains to be seen if this title win will convince the man who once held the Intercontinental Title himself – if only for 16 days – that Uso is still on the rise in the company.
