Bron Breakker Recalls Great Advice From Unlikely WWE Source
Bron Breakker is a WWE star on the rise who was given some wise advice from somebody with a unique job in WWE.
At the WWE Money in the Bank PLE in Toronto on July 6th, Bron Breakker competed in his first championship match on the main roster. The Raw superstar challenged Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Title in a very physical match that ended when Zayn hit the Helluva Kick leading to the pinfall win.
You may have heard during the match, and during most of Bron’s matches, that he runs at an impressive speed of 23 MPH when he hits the ropes. It is something that Michael Cole says in nearly every one of Breakker’s matches because it’s an incredible statistic to tell the audience how fast Bron is.
During an interview with The Masked Man Show, Bron Breakker revealed how that running speed statistic came to be.
“I want to say I did a dark match one time, and I’m not sure when this was, but it was a year ago or so. I came up to Raw, and I did Main Event or a dark match or something, and I was just like, you know what, I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate the Steiner Line into my arsenal to make it a regular thing.”
“I hadn’t quite figured it out yet, I’d done it a couple different ways, and I’m like, man, this ain’t working, it’s not the same. Because my dad used to rip people’s head off with it, and I wanted it to be my own thing. I didn’t want to just straight up take his deal. So I was like, maybe I’ll just run the ropes twice tonight, and I’ll just run as fast as I can, and then I’ll just put it at the end of that, and we’ll see what happens.”
“I ran the ropes, I did the clothesline, crowd came up for it. Later that night, after I was done, a gentleman working in the truck and he came over to me, he came out of the truck and he said, ‘That was the fastest I’ve ever seen anybody run, and I’ve been working here for over 20 years. You need to do that every night.’ I was like, okay.”
“He was like, ‘We have a gauge in the truck, it tells us speed and stuff, and there’s a bunch of different gauges and stuff that they have up there, and he was like, it was over 23 miles an hour. I was like, ‘Whoa.’ So that’s kind of where that started.”
Hulk Hogan Praises Bron Breakker
There are a lot of people in the wrestling business who see big things for Bron Breakker in WWE. The legendary, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan recently made it known that he thinks Breakker can be “the guy” in WWE.
“He’s something else. He’s wise beyond his years, To be that intense and to know that the red light is on and be able to stay in that zone, it’s very impressive. If they do the right thing with him, that could be the next Stone Cold [Steve Austin], Rock, or Hulk Hogan. He could be the guy.”
Bron Breakker is part of the WWE Raw brand, which heads to Ottawa, Ontario on July 8th as the former NXT Champion Breakker looks to get back on track after the tough loss at Money in the Bank.
