Miami Submits Bid To Host WWE WrestleMania In 2018, 2019 or 2020

World Wrestling Entertainment will be holding their biggest event of 2017, WrestleMania 33, at Camping World Stadium (formerly known as the Citrus Bowl) in Orlando, Florida. It will be the third time in nine years that WrestleMania comes to the Sunshine State after having WrestlingMania XXIV at Camping World Stadium (then the Citrus Bowl) in 2008 and WrestleMania XXVIII at Miami’s SunLife Stadium in 2012. Having one state host three WrestleMania’s in nine years is a lot by most standards, considering many states or countries do not have the same privilege.

If there were a lot of initial groans from wrestling fans after it was announced that WrestleMania would be going back to Florida next year, then this news will likely create even loader groans. That news being, South Florida (Miami) officials submitted a bid to host WrestleMania in either 2018, 2019 or 2020 at the newly renovated Dolphins Stadium in Miami. This is according to The Miami Herald.

This bid to bring WrestleMania back to Florida is a collaborative effort from the Miami Dolphins, the Miami Beach Convention Center, American Airlines Arena/HEAT group, and the Greater Miami Convention Center & Visitors Bureau.

Mark’s reaction: I really doubt Miami ends up getting WrestleMania 34 in 2018 considering WWE will be in Orlando for next year’s WrestleMania. WWE’s had one state play host to back to back WrestleMania’s in the past with Trump Plaza hosting WrestleMania IV and V and Madison Square Garden hosting the inaugural WrestleMania and part of WrestleMania II. However, that was many years ago and I don’t think they’d ever do that again; especially in Florida. Having one state host four WrestleMania’s in 10 years would cause a riot haha. I also don’t think 2019 or 2020 is likely because it would still only be 2 or 3 years after WrestleMania 33 in Orlando; but hey, ya never know.
